Chorley New Road Primary Academy

Challenge - Nurture - Respect

We would like to give you an update about our school dinners. As you know, earlier this year we moved away from Bolton Council Catering and began using Apetito to provide meals for the children.

After listening carefully to children and staff, and reviewing how things have been going, we feel that this arrangement has not been the best fit for our school.

The children told us that they much prefer the meals cooked by our own kitchen team, and we have also found that preparing meals in school is better value.

With this in mind, we are pleased to let you know that from 24th November, 2026 our school cook will be preparing fresh meals on site.

We will not be returning to Bolton Council catering- our school cook will decide on the meals and order fresh ingredients locally. All the meals will be cooked fresh in our own kitchen.

We believe this return to in-school cooking will offer tastier meals and a more positive dining experience for the children.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. If you have any questions, please contact the school office.
